The Promise That Lost to Fate | Siya – Chapter One

Chapter One

The Promise... That Lost to Fate

"Some stories are not remembered because they have a happy ending...
but because their pain never leaves the heart..."

The soft morning sunlight was scattered across the lush green lawn of the college.

Yellow leaves falling from the trees danced gently upon the breeze.

It was the first day of the new academic year.

Everywhere there was laughter, happiness, new friendships, and the excitement of countless dreams.

But amidst it all...

A girl sat quietly on the library steps, turning the pages of her book.

Her name...

Siya was.

A simple white dress...

Long, open hair...

An inexplicable calmness on her face...

And dreams in her eyes...

Dreams that perhaps even she could not fully understand.

She was certainly beautiful...

But her beauty did not demand attention...

Rather, it quietly found its way into the heart.

Meanwhile...

A motorcycle entered through the college gate.

His hair danced in the wind...

A smile on his face...

And countless dreams in his eyes...

This was Aro.

He belonged neither to a wealthy family...

Nor to some prominent business family.

His father ran a small shop.

And his greatest wealth...

Was his hard work and self-respect.

Everyone at college liked him.

Because he never hesitated to help others.

The first lecture was about to begin.

All the students were hurriedly taking their seats.

In the rush...

Siya's book slipped from her hands and fell to the floor.

Several papers scattered across the floor.

She was just about to bend down and gather them when...

Another hand reached toward the same papers.

Both their hands stopped on the same page.

One moment...

Just one moment...

Their eyes met.

Time seemed to suddenly stand still.

The sounds of the classroom...

The conversations of the students...

Everything seemed to fade away.

Aro said with a smile...

"Perhaps this book wanted to meet you before it met me."

Siya lowered her eyes.

A faint smile appeared on her lips.

"Perhaps..."

Just that one word.

But Aro felt...

As if the whole world had spoken to him.

After that day...

The quiet corners of the library...

The college canteen...

The lush green garden...

And the long corridors...

Their footsteps often began moving in the same direction.

First came greetings...

Then conversations...

Then laughter...

And then...

Even their silences began to feel beautiful.

One day...

It was raining.

College had ended for the day.

Everywhere, the roads were wet with rain.

Siya stood under the shelter, waiting for the rain to stop.

Just then, Aro came to her.

He had an umbrella in his hand.

Smiling, he said...

"If you don't mind... shall we share this rain between us?"

For the first time, Siya laughed wholeheartedly.

The two began walking beneath the same umbrella.

The wind repeatedly tugged at the umbrella...

Raindrops touched their faces...

And every time...

They looked at each other and smiled.

The road was not very long...

But that day...

Neither of them was in a hurry to reach the destination.

That evening...

Aro wrote in his diary:

"For the first time today, I felt that some people do not enter our lives by chance... perhaps they are the most beautiful words written by fate."

Meanwhile...

Siya opened her diary too.

She stared at the blank page for a long time.

Then she slowly wrote...

"I don't know why... but today the rain seemed more beautiful than ever before..."

Time passed quietly.

Friendship...

Slowly turned into love.

Now neither of them could imagine a single day at college without the other.

Every success...

Every happiness...

Every dream...

They shared everything with each other.

One day...

In the garden behind the college...

Where there stood an old banyan tree...

Aro asked Siya to meet him there.

Evening was falling.

The fragrance of flowers filled the air.

Aro's voice was more serious than usual that day.

He took a small silver ring from his pocket.

It was not an expensive ring...

But it carried the entire wealth of a sincere heart.

He knelt down before Siya.

His voice was trembling.

"I don't have wealth..."

"I don't have a big house..."

"But I have a heart..."

"A heart that speaks only your name with every beat."

Tears filled Siya's eyes.

Aro said in a trembling voice...

"Promise me..."

"If you ever marry... let it be only me..."

Siya looked at him through her tear-filled eyes.

Then she slowly placed her hand in his.

And said...

"I promise..."

"If someone's name is written in my destiny... it is only Aro."

The wind blew strongly, shaking the leaves of the banyan tree...

As if nature itself had become a witness to their promise.

The two held each other's hands tightly.

Little did they know...

That fate was quietly writing the account of their happiness.
